Welcome!
My name is Courtney Hexham. I am a Zambian African American (my birth father is a black Zambian, and my birth mother is a white American) and a transracial adoptee (I was adopted into a white family). I started this blog as part of a larger writing project, through which I share my stories, including reuniting with my birth parents.

I've heard a lot as a black adoptee growing up in predominantly white communities: the pleasant, the ugly, and the indifferent. My hope for this blog is to share my story and inspire more conversation around black and transracial adoptees and the "grey" area of being black, with me and/or others!

Thank you for reading, listening, and sharing with others!
